Dear Barber parents,
We are very excited to announce our move to online report cards for the 2018-2019 school year!
Your child’s progress report for the first 4 ½ week grading period is now available via the ParentVUE and StudentVUE system. All grades be released electronically this year and students will no longer be provided paper copies of progress reports or quarter report cards.
It is important that you set up a ParentVUE account in order to receive report card information. If you do not have a ParentVUE account activated, the enrolling adult will need to come to Barber to receive an activation letter and sign the privacy form. This account will give you access to the online progress and report card, as well as the ability to monitor grades and attendance on a daily basis. You will need to bring in a photo ID to complete this process.
ParentVUE can be located from the Parents tab on the Cobb County School website (www.cobbk12.org) or by accessing the “district links” through the Barber Middle School website (www.cobbk12.org/barber). The ParentVUE app is also available for iPhone and Android phones.
If you do not have internet access and are unable to use ParentVUE, you may send in a note with your child’s homeroom teacher to allow him/her to print a copy of the report card in the media center.
In order to access the first 4 ½ week progress report:
1. Log into ParentVUE or StudentVUE (https://parentvue.cobbk12.org/)
2. Along the left sidebar, choose “Report Card.”
3. Click the link under the student’s profile picture “Click here to view report card for Progress Period 1”.
4. A PDF file of the report card will display with the option to print from home

Art Club will meet Wednesday April 8th from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm. please bring your lunch or a snack. We are painting the backgrounds/sets for the play.
This years theme is motion & stillness
The theme is designed to be open ended and reflect the current exhibit that will be on display at the Zuckerman Museum. Teams are encouraged to practice at your local school and bring sketches, images, and other resuources on the day of the event.
Pause focuses on contemporary ideas about portraiture by juxtaposing a selection of paintings from the museum’s permanent collection with cutting-edge contemporary works by local, regional, national and international artists. The show addresses artists’ attempts to slow or change time, thinking about the idea of stillness in relationship to posing for a portrait, capturing a moment, freezing frames, preserving split seconds, suspending animation, stopping, breathing, withdrawing, or interrupting the flow. Works will also examine the moral correlations of stillness: the positive associations with meditation, reflection, and thought; and the negative implications of idleness and stillness as lacking direction or energy.
Moving forward, Art Club attendees need to be serious about getting the backdrops and props designed and executed for the Spring Play. Any Art Club student that would like to be a stage hand and attend the plays will need to pay $15.00. A meal will be provided.
